Herceg Novi

On the very entrance in Bay of Boka Kotorska lays seven centuries old town Herceg Novi. Igalo

The most famous spa and climate healing place in the region, Igalo, deserves to be put in line with the most famous European spas. It is characteristic by the presence of healing sea mud (peloidbiloit) and the wells of mineral water. The beach which is 1.000 meter long is an ideal swimming place for children, because shallow parts reach up to 100 m towards the open sea. Risan

The oldest settlement of Boka Kotorska and a town which is surrounded by high mountains, Risan is a romantic, coastal place. Old Greeks and Illyrians lived here in welfare, and Romans have made it a fortified town with beautiful architecture and well known, until nowadays preserved, mosaic in the houses. Archeological remains, which survived the earthquakes and centuries, make this town a real small museum. Today by its beauty especially notices is the church of Sveti Petar I Pavle (St. Peter and Paul) which is 400 years old, in which numerous gifts from the Russian court and valuable relics are preserved. Risan is visited by restorers and archeologists who will certainly find interesting the fact that in the town there are antiquities which can only be found here – such as figural show of the God Hiponos on one of the mosaics. In the immediate vicinity of Risan there is a cave with a lake, named Spila, so the speleologist will find the visit to this place a real festival for their eyes. Also the sight of the well Sopot which from the great height, over the cascades falls into the sea is extremely beautiful. Krivosijske Mountains which rise above Risan are rich with endemic plant kinds, and after a longer walk you will come across some of the rare smaller lodgments in which houses are mostly made of stone. Perast

The old medieval town Perast, famous by its seaman and rustic nice atmosphere which can be felt in it, is a real pearl, which is just 12 km from Kotor. This small town is especially interesting for all those who admire baroque architecture – the belfry of the church of Sveti Nikola, the octagonal belfry of the church of Lady of Rozario, palaces of Bujovic and Zmajevic are just one of the most famous ones in town. Above Perast rises the fortress of Sveti Krst (St. Cross), and the archive and the museum are especially rich. Kotor

In its hidden gulf, in the bottom of bay of Boka Kotorska, lays Kotor and it counts the centuries of its existence since the early roman period. While Perast and Risan remained peaceful, Kotor today is a town full of life. It is a cross road which connects Cetinje with Dubrovnik, and Herceg Novi with the rest of the Montenegrin Adriatic coast. Inside the kilometers long bulwarks of the town Kotor preserves the most diverse architecture – Roman, Gothic, renaissance, and baroque style change alternating each other from street to street and testify about the influences of various empires which conquered it. Small squares, on which one can find churches, such as cathedral of Sveti Tripun (XII century) make it a typically Mediterranean town. Rich with cultural and historic monuments, Kotor is especially interesting for the visitors; traditional Boka night after the defile of the boats turns into a whole night party on the streets and squares of the town. On the square during the festivity you will find the representatives of Boka navy, who are performing the traditional “kolo” (DANCE), keeping from oblivion the tradition of great Kotor seaman. Tivat

The widest lodgment in Boka, whose name comes from the famous Illyrian queen Teuta, Tivat from ancient times, was the excursion vacation area of Kotor and Perast noblemen. Rich City Park is a real small botanic garden in which one can find plants and trees which seaman from these areas brought into their town from various meridians. In the surrounding of the town there are some very fertile orchards and vineyards. Budva

Budva is called the “capital of Montenegrin tourism”. During the year it is visited by tens of thousands of tourist, which remember it for a long time by tow things – great nature and great fun. Average year temperature on Budva Riviera is on the level of the temperatures on French and Italian Riviera. Beaches such as Becici and Mogren are the most beautiful sand beaches on Montenegrin coast, along with the one on Ada Bojana. Budva is more than 2.500 years old, and as a town, it preserved typically Mediterranean and medieval appearance. The old town lies on the peninsula which used to be an island, but later it merged with the land. It is surrounded with thick bulwarks, so today it seems that the old and the new part of the town live in different time dimensions. Narrow streets, stone pavements, and tall houses one next to another live their centuries peacefully, while outside the bulwarks the contemporary and modern town spreads and becomes the favorite summer vacation place of young people in Montenegro. Several cultural monuments which adorn Budva such as the church of Sveti Ivan from the VII century, church of Sveta Trojica in front of which the grave of Stefan Mitrov Ljubisa is located, and many others are just a part of the tourist offer of Budva. Sveti Stefan

Just a few minutes of ride from Budva, there is a former fishing lodgment Sveti Stefan, which with a sand isthmus is connected with the land. Since then Sveti Stefan has turned into a luxurious vacation place, surrounded by the beaches with small sand, and represents the attraction which is available mostly to rich tourists. The town was built by the citizens of these areas, by seizing great treasure from Turkish ships in the XV century, so during the following period it was a place on which valuable things were preserved, and where people hid in front of some danger. Petrovac

The area on which Petrovac lays is by far known by the olive groves, sub tropical climate and generosity of people who live on it. Situated between Bar and Budva Riviera this area even today keeps quietness and peace, so it is favorite among family people, and family holidays. In Petrovac which as a lodgment was formed during the XVIII and XIX century one can find the remains of the Roman civilization – floor mosaics which are partially preserved, and which are at least XVI centuries old. Venetians erected a fortress here in the XVI century, and for a tourist the visit to the monastery in Rezevici would be a great indulgence – its tumultuous history will be told to you by any citizen of this little town. Sutomore

With Budva Sutomore is the most popular Montenegrin lodgment for young people. The closeness of the somewhat bigger town, Bar, the highway which goes on towards Budva and Podgorica, and the railway Beograd – Bar, make it a place to which you can come quickly, and about the enjoyment on a kilometer and a half long sandy beach one can’t say enough. If you are a lover of calmer vacation, beaches Mali and Veliki Maljevik are the right choice – the smell of the sea on them mixes with the pine smell, making those small gulfs real airy spas. Sutomore is a real small town phenomenon, in which you can come across blossom in orchards even in the first month of the year. Bar

Extremely nice and neat and during the whole year warm, town Bar lays on the slopes of the mountain Rumija for already some 20 centuries. Old Bar, the jewel for which the greatest civilizations fought for, even today is a real attraction for all tourist of Bar Riviera. The ruined and the remains of the city bulwarks, gates, towers, and several churches, are systematically being conserved and in that way they keep the memory on what used to be the most significant place on the Montenegrin coast, when we are talking about history. New Bar is known by the modern architecture and the greatest harbor in the surrounding, an attractive marina and diverse flora. In Bar municipality Virpazar is situated, a smaller lodgment on Skadar Lake, north from Bar. Ulcinj

The most southern town of the Montenegrin coast, more than 2.500 years old, has always been a romantic place, in which the destiny sent pirates, kings, their wives, and even a Servantes. The long time reign of Turks, gave to this town, as to no other, a real oriental appearance – mosques, Turkish baths, and curved streets which dominate the old part of the town. Town bulwarks, the ruined of princes castle, Towers of Balsici, and the tracks of mosaics testify about the rich history of the town, on one hand, while the 12, 5 km long Velika plaza (BIG BEACH) speaks about the possibilities of vacation and fun on Ulcinj Riviera. This area is known by healing waters, pine forests and olive groves, and in the near by hunting area there are ducks and geese, so on the 12.000ha of surface you can test your hunting abilities.
